To Your Health!
"To Your Health" has long been the toast for social
occasions, with everyone clinking his or her glasses after
a fine dinner. However do we really stop for a moment and
think what this really means? Our health is indeed the most
important aspect of our life, but in the busy rush we are
al too apt to forget it. As we try to cram more and more
into our already overloaded schedules, we rely on fast
foods and use our cars rather than our feet to take us
everywhere. However with a few basic steps we can turn our
lives around and give ourselves the chance to have the
healthy lifestyle we deserve. Here are 4 basic steps to
help you turn your life around. When you buy fast food
consider more nutritious alternatives. When you order the
usual hamburger and fries, consider substituting the fries
for a salad. Instead of the hamburger, think about a
chicken or fish fillet sandwich. it is easier than you
think to adapt your eating habits to a healthier diet.
Snacking, is a common habit that leads us to eat junk food.
However you can find better snacks than chips and candies.
Use fruits and vegetables to snack on. They will give you
more energy and do not cost that much more.
Train your kids from an early age to eat less sugar and
fried foods, and to exercise daily. They will grow up with
less health problems and better morale.
Exercise for at least 10 minutes a day. Instead of just
sitting watching your favorite T.V. show, purchase an
exercise bike and take a little exercise while you watch.
You will be surprised at how relaxing this can be.
Foods to be careful about: sugar, fat/oil, salt. Each one
of these foods can have serious effects on your health.
Excess of sugar can lead to diabetes and other sugar
related problems. We have seen a definite rise in this
disease among our younger generation. Too much fat/oil can
disturb the balance of our bodies and lead to life
threatening problems such as heart disease. When taken too
much salt can produce high blood pressure and can
precipitate strokes, kidney and heart problems. If you just
take a few precautions you can adjust your diet to be more
nutritious and healthy, You will have more energy and even
think better. when you combine good diet with 10-15 minutes
of exercise a day you can truly understand the meaning of
"to your health."
